Hatching Results
Hi - so 8 of my eggs hatched ...5 males and 3 females! One of my girls, Daisey had a leg problem but now I am so happy she is up on her feet both walking and running. It is so cute cuz she also is also the only chick that literally follows me around. The 5 boys are named Rocky, Tweedy, Cruiser, Ming ming, and CJ. The 3 girls are named Tera, Peach, and of course my Daisey.

Worried
Yesterday i was looking at my eggs when i realized i didn't turn one of them. I am still worried about it since the eggs are supposed to be turned an odd amount of times a day. I set up a time where just that egg would be turned so I am hoping that one will survive. cross your fingers :)

forgotten
Today we had a showing of our house because it is up for sale. So we had to get up around 7:00 i turned my eggs around that time. we got back at 10:30 i turned them again but i had to leave for a birth day party at noon until 4:00. My mom would be gone so it was up to my dad to turn them at least once. When i got home i asked when was the last time the eggs were turned at first my dad looked confused then suddenly remembered he had to turn them they were never turned so i have to fit in 3-5 more turns in. Well they will still be ok but now i think we know who is more likely to get side tracked me or my dad.

Finally
The eggs made it into the incubator and it is at 99 degrees. I flipped them for the first time this morning and will do it again around 2:40. I can see why its a great temperature for them to hatch because when i reached in, it felt like I stuck my hand into a blanket of warmth. It makes me so happy to know I'm one step closer to little fuzzy buddies to play with, I am going to enjoy that feeling while I can. I'm sure I will be tired of constantly turning the eggs. Next post will for sure have pictures of the eggs!

Trip to the Chicken Hatchery
Hi - Welcome to my blog. Today I took a trip to the hatchery with my grandpa & grandma & my brother Zach & sister Madison. We drove to Zealand Mi and i bought a dozen fertile eggs. The name of the breed is called Isa browns which is the easiest breed to tell apart the male and female. The lighter ones are males while the golden brown ones are the female. This morning I plugged in the incubator and filled the trays with water for humidity, it was 100 degrees Fahrenheit last time i checked. Now i am waiting for it to go down to 99.5 degrees. My friend Katherine was nice enough to get me an incubator and the information on how to hatch the eggs and where to get the eggs. Thanks Katherine! :) Soon I will set the eggs up in the incubator. For now they are in an egg container but I put them downstairs and not in the refrigerator so my Dad wouldn't accidentally try to cook them. :) I will post pictures too. Stay tuned...
